What's with the "40-Up" Name?
40-Up Tackle traces it's origins back to the 1970s when Bill Hubbard, a respected Maine guide, started making an ice-fishing tip-up, that when tripped, had the flag waving 40" above the ice. Current ownership bought Bill's operation many years ago and is now a major U.S. manufacturer of wood tip-ups. 40-Up's Spring/Summer program was started a few years ago as "seasonal offset"... with terminal tackle and tackle accessories geared to the Northeast.

Popular in many areas, the Hi-Flag Double is the same size and construction of our Senior tip-up, but with the addition of a gound or "running" flag which shows instantly (with the reel still under water) if line is still being taken off the reel. This is a "four-prong sole" and a "two-prong heel" non-slip ice/snow grabber. Molded in heavy duty plastic with rugged metal studs. A very easy-on-easy off creeper. Made in Taiwan. Each set is individually packaged in attractive CLAM SHELL display pack. A popular winter product for 40-UP.

These boxes were an addition to our Winter program with ice jigs and small floats, swivels, sounders in mind.... but much more adaptable to spring/summer use... some have the small "rounded bottom" compartments with hinged lid which secures the contents... molded in a basic "flexible" plastic.
